Jason Muir
Chief Risk
Officer

Appointed Chief Risk Officer in January 2023, Jason brings a depth of experience having held several risk roles in the financial services and professional services sectors, including at Statewide Super, BT Financial Group, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu and KPMG.
   
As Chief Risk Officer, Jason is responsible for developing, enhancing and implementing an effective risk management framework, leading the Risk team and supporting the Board and leadership team on risk management practices and emerging risks.  

Roles and responsibilities 

Chief Risk Officer:

• Continuous improvement and implementation of an efficient and effective risk management framework
  
• Lead the risk team in the development and execution of the Risk business plan
• Support the Board, CEO and Group Executive in the Fund’s strategic and business planning activities and ongoing assessment of risk
• Regular and timely reporting to the Board, Audit, Risk and Compliance Committees, CEOs, Group Executive and other stakeholders on risk management practices and emerging risks
• Establish and communicate the organisation’s risk appetite and risk management philosophy
• Implement an appropriate infrastructure of policies, processes, personnel, reports and systems for managing and monitoring risk, including emerging risk
• Provide expert advice on risk identification and mitigation, including the implementation of appropriate controls, systems and processes to manage risks
• Establish and maintain strong working relationships with all business units and the leadership team to understand business unit risks and to support the implementation of effective controls and processes
• Communicate risk management obligations to stakeholders and enhance risk awareness across the organisation on a continuous basis 
• Ensure there is a comprehensive Business Continuity Management program in place, including disaster recovery
• Foster a proactive organisation wide risk culture by communicating and promoting required risk management activities and initiatives to colleagues, internal and external auditors and the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committees
