Share markets rallied considerably over the 2023–24 financial year, driving positive returns for Hostplus members.
Excitement about artificial intelligence drove these strong returns, particularly for the large tech companies. This optimism outweighed market worries about high interest rates and inflation.
Across the year, all Hostplus’ pre-mixed investment options delivered positive returns to 30 June 2024.

Hostplus’ Balanced (MySuper) option is still ranked number 1 over 10 and 20 years.
Our Balanced (MySuper) option, where most members invest1, returned 7.60% over the financial year.2 Our other pre-mixed options all delivered positive returns as well. Indexed Balanced returned 12.18%, making it the top-performing balanced option in Australia, according to SuperRatings.
